At Storo Tools, we believe the best tools come from real-world experience. As a family-run business rooted in generations of hands-on bench work, we design, manufacture, and test every product in-house—because we use them ourselves every day. Nothing leaves our shop unless it’s been rigorously tested in ours.
Founder Story
Our story begins in 1988, when our father founded 14K Inc, a full-service jewelry store in Hudson, New York. What started with a briefcase and a bench has grown into a trusted name in custom jewelry and repair, built on craftsmanship, reliability, and personal service. Today, the second generation of our family works alongside him, continuing to move 14K forward while staying grounded in the same values that shaped it.
With backgrounds in engineering, computer science, and medicine, our team brings a broad mix of skills to the table—but jewelry is the common thread that ties us all together. We’ve always been creating custom tools and organization systems for our own use at 14K. Whether it was solving how to label laser wire spools that wore off mid-project, or finding a better way to keep our benches organized, we built solutions out of necessity—then refined them through real daily use.
Eventually, we realized we weren’t alone in these challenges, and Storo Tools was born.
How We Work
We continue to work full-time at 14K Inc, where every Storo product is born, tested, and proven. Each tool begins with a real problem at the bench. We prototype, iterate, and use it ourselves in a fast-paced shop environment, refining every detail along the way. Nothing is released until it’s met our standards—and the standards of our extended community of fellow jewelers. This commitment to function, durability, and thoughtful design is at the heart of everything we do.
In-House Everything
That same care and intention extends beyond the tools themselves. Everything you see—from the design of our products to the models, images, animations, and even this website—was built in-house. We do it all ourselves to ensure every detail reflects the same level of quality and craftsmanship we bring to our work.
